Why use a wetting agent?
Sometimes pinholes are so small that water has difficulties reaching the conductive substrate beneath them, especially on thicker coatings where water must penetrate further into a pinhole to reach the substrate. In these cases, inspectors will employ a surfactant (wetting agent) to reduce the surface tension of the water, allowing the solution to better penetrate the pinhole.
